If you have concrete slats in your pigsty that are wearing out and you would like to coat, treat or replace them, why not consider fitting our PE plastic sheets with studs or chequered plates on top? This will provide your concrete slats with a protective layer, effectively giving them a new lease of life. You’ll save a lot of money and time compared to buying new slats or having them coated. By fitting the new plastic protective sheets onto your concrete slats, you’ll keep bacteria and germs at bay and optimise hygiene in the barn. The plastic grating sheets are completely liquid-tight, mechanically robust and easy to clean. Naturally, it is important that your concrete gratings still have sufficient load-bearing capacity to support the animals. These plastic plates cannot take over the load-bearing capacity of the concrete slats, but they do restore a smooth and hygienic surface to your slats and prevent further wear and tear on them. We offer the plastic slatted panels in 9 mm and 12 mm thicknesses. We recommend 9 mm thick protective panels for piglets and 12 mm thick panels for fattening pigs.
Manure slots milled into them at the factory
We can mill our PE sheets to size ex-works; these are normally stocked in our warehouse in the standard size of 3000×1500, and can also be fitted with manure slots to ensure good manure drainage. You can specify the slot width of the slatted floor covers yourself by providing a drawing. The edge of the milled manure slot is square and smooth, but we can round off or deburr this edge on our milling table if you wish.
Assembly
The plastic concrete grating protective panels can be fitted in various ways. You can secure them yourself using wall plugs, screws and bodywork washers in the existing grating. We also manufacture our own stainless steel grating anchors, which you can insert through the manure slot in your existing concrete gratings, twist into place and tighten. We have stainless steel grating fixings from our own production with 50mm stainless steel thread, 120mm thread and 150 mm thread and M10 stainless steel bolts for securing the plastic grille guards.
