As well as innovating our feeding troughs In the pig sector, we are also constantly striving to improve the efficiency and sustainability of our production process.
New Riedex extraction unit
Since early March 2024, we have therefore had a new Riedex DM 350 RV extraction unit put into operation in our plastics department. This extraction unit offers a number of advantages over our old extraction unit:
- We no longer need special single-use plastic bin liners. We can hand in our full bins at our plastics recycling point.
- Removing the bin is far more efficient and less labour-intensive than taking out the plastic bin liners.
- The new extraction unit carries on running as normal whilst we replace the full waste bin. The CNC milling tables can continue to operate as normal. With the old extraction unit, the CNC milling tables had to be shut down first.
- Thanks to a sensor, we can see remotely that the bin is almost full and that we’ll need to replace it soon.
- The new extractor unit uses less energy than the old one.
- The noise level of the new extractor is much lower than that of the old one. This makes working in our production area more comfortable.

Dutch machinery and suppliers
The Riedex extraction unit was supplied by the Talen Machines, a company based in Staphorst. They can assemble, expand and install the extraction units themselves using a modular system. These Riedex Extraction units are manufactured in the Frisian village Ried. In addition to our materials, we endeavour as far as possible to purchase as many Dutch-made machines as we can. Dutch machines are of a very high standard, and should any faults occur, we can be sure that we will be able to resume our production process as quickly as possible.
