Plastic plates for dense grid flooring

Various meat concepts show that there are end-dates that need to be met. For example, for the Better Life hallmark, in 2025, the grate floor in weaned piglets should be 40% dense.

Various solutions for your open grill floor

The conversion of piglets can be tackled in various ways. For example, you can choose to create larger groups of piglets and rebuild the ward for them and use the feeding corridor as a dense part. Another solution is to replace the open grids with dense floor elements. These are both constructively significant measures and you will also have to keep an eye on the stable climate. The floor elements cost between € 60,- a € 100,- per square meter.

The most economical solution, which you can also easily perform yourself, is to close your existing grid floor in the pig shed with plastic PE plates over the existing piglets grids. This is a lot cheaper than partially replacing the grid floor with dense floor elements.

PT0 has different plastic plates in its range before closing with PE plates. First a plastic tear plate of 9 or 11.5mm thick. Then a stud plate made of PE plastic of 9mm or 12mm thick. Besides this stud structure there is also a plate available with a very fine waffle structure. This plastic plate also offers good grip and has a finer structure. Finally there are also plates with a 2mm rubber layer over the stud plate, our so-called Ekogrip plate. This plate has an excellent grip, even if the plate is moist. The life of these plates, as well as grid floors, is long but not infinite. The wear and tear ultimately depends on the occupation of your lofts and the weight of the pigs. The thicker the plate the longer this PE plastic plate lasts. An additional advantage is that plastic naturally feels warmer than concrete or steel, so plastic is a good choice for the comfort of your piglets.

Base plate for pig feed or troughs

The plastic plates with motif for extra grip such as tearplate or studs are also widely used to lay under existing feeding systems such as long troughs for pigs or sows or under pig feeding troughs. This is done to protect the grilled floor (especially in concrete) from eating food that quickly wears off. With grid anchors these base plates are easy to attach to any floor. In addition, these plastic base plates are very easy to combine with transport when ordering food trays. The base plates are placed under the feed boxes on the pallets, leaving transport costs manageable.

PE Plates in all shapes and sizes

The plastic stud plates for protecting or closing your grid floor to meet the 40% dense floor requirement can in principle be made in all shapes and sizes by us. Plates have a fixed size of 3000x1500mm, so a size we can see from this is the most beneficial. The finish is also important. We can bevel the sides completely for you. Therefore, there are no raised edges to which the piglets can injure themselves. Beveled-side plates have less risk of injury.

We can also provide the floor plates with heating, the thickness of the plates becomes larger.

The PE plastic covers can also be sawed, drilled and drilled if you wish. They are easy to edit and adapt to the situation. These plates are also excellent for under your pork trench or pig food trays to protect the stable floor from eating food. For this we often supply these plates together with new food trays.

The plastic plates can be mounted on your grill floor, where we can also Stainless steel grid anchors to deliver.
