In the spring of 2018, we got a call from Mr. Wil Beijsens to see our showroom in Nijnsel. Of course we went into that because we like to show people our company and showroom. Wil has been living in Australia for years and visiting his family in Brabant. In Australia Wil has a large pig company called Bellgrove Pork located in Gordonbrook, Queensland. He wanted to buy Dutch stables because of the high standards of quality, animal welfare and feed conversion. Hence also his visit to Verba in Nijnsel.
Create your own feed
As we often see abroad Bellgrove Pork uses fine food, crumb and flour, which comes for a large part from the immediate surroundings or from its own grounds. Not all feeder mechanisms are suitable for this, but especially our Verba Mewaco (a Dutch abbreviation for MEel WAter COmbinatie) proved to be a perfect match for Wil. This bowl, as the name says, is specially made for flour and crumb food.
No bridge formation
There were several reasons why Wants to be interested in the Mewaco. First of all, the Mewaco feed tray can be sent unassembled and easily assembled. This obviously saves a lot of volume in the shipping container transport towards Australia. In addition, large groups of piglets and meat pigs can eat from the Mewaco and the Mewaco duo is standard equipped with a lid. In addition, the Mewaco is excellent for fine food, partly because the feed ray and drink trench are clearly separated so that the water can get to the feed less well and therefore cannot form a bridge. The Mewaco is unique in its kind when compared to competing feeding troughs where the troughs from 1 plate are pounded and the water and feed run through each other so that the bowl can run fast. In addition, in the feed bunker of the Mewaco food bowl there is also a stirring mechanism that is operated by the pigs themselves and that keeps the feed continuously loose should there still be water to the feed.
Ordering of feeding troughs
Then Wil was back in Australia and he had measured everything followed a big order from Mewaco. 48 Mewaco duo for piglets, 2 Mewaco duo for pigs for meat and 72 Mewaco mates for pigs for meat. An order we could fill a nice container with. Meanwhile running Wants to have some more years with the Mewaco feed trays to be fully satisfied.
In September 2022 it was found that Wants to be so satisfied that he had decided to order 50 Mewaco duo meat pigs from us unassembled. For us, of course, that is a great ambassador to Australia.
