Description
Design and functionality of the ZB Witness feed trough
For (pregnant) sows, it is important that the feed and the feeding system are well matched. The VERBA ZB sow feeder offers a simple and effective solution for ad libitum feeding of 10 to 12 sows in group accommodation. This sow feeder provides sows with fresh feed that is easily accessible and dispensed in optimal quantities. Furthermore, this is achieved at a relatively low investment cost, making it a cost-effective choice for sow farmers.
Calm feeding behaviour and precise adjustment
The sophisticated VERBA metering valve ensures that the sows feed calmly. This means they are better controlled than with a traditional dry feed trough for sows. For larger groups of sows, multiple ZB sow feeders can be used. This sow feeder features highly precise adjustment, ensuring that the sows do not overeat and are encouraged to feed calmly. This adjustment is also ideal for daily rationing.
Hygiene and maintenance
The raised trough ensures that the sows can easily reach the feed and that no feed residues are left behind. This keeps the trough clean and hygienic. Combined with the stainless steel DRN 4 drinking trough This is the ideal solution for group housing of sows with ad libitum feeding. We recommend installing the sow drinking troughs (preferably a DRN 4) at least 1 metre away from the ZB sow feeding trough. Installing them further away is also no problem.
Optional water supply and various models
Optionally, we can also install a water pipe with drinking teat assembly, which transforms the ZB sow feeder into a slurry trough. The ZB feed trough models are particularly suitable for pellet and crumb feed. For finer feed, such as meal, the ZBC feed trough models are ideal. For rearing gilts, a lower feed trough is available, which is incorporated into two lower-profile feed trough models.
Durability and sturdiness
The additional stainless steel omega profiles on the side make the VERBA ZB sow feeding trough extremely strong. As standard, there is a folded stainless steel corner at the front, which allows the sow feeding trough to be securely mounted to the floor. The sow feeding trough must also be securely fixed to the rear wall, which contributes to its overall stability and durability.
