L. Verbakel, together with Wijnen Machines and Twan Teurlings of Total Pigfarmers Management, is currently hard at work testing a brand-new Verba computer-controlled Variomix Dryfeeder. This Variomix has been specially developed for farrowing, piglet and fattening pig pens. Following successful trials, we have now reached the third test phase.
What makes this new Variomix unique is that the water and dry feed are dispensed simultaneously into the feeding trough, ensuring an optimal water-to-feed ratio. Water and feed can be precisely adjusted in the computer using a curve. Another special feature of this new Variomix is the playful way in which the piglets learn to cope excellently with metered feeding. The initial test results are truly astonishing.
